A Prim Witchy Christmastime...I have three trees that are rustic and primitive that I always use for my holiday prims. This year, being a bit behind in my work, I joked about making a witchy-tree, as I was still focused on Halloween and Christmas was moving in on me fast! Then, after some encouragement to do just that, I decided to go ahead with the fun idea. I located an old black tea pot at the thrift store. My husband drilled a hole in the bottom and inserted a metal piece of tubing, so it would stay nice and steady on the tree-top. I made 6 witch hat ornies and added hooks to them for hanging ease. Then I made two round balls--just as you'd make a round head--and painted their sections black and left the others natural and stained them. I loved the whimsical look of the balls. Then, I made sugar cone tree ornies (that I have a pattern for) and added those along with a strand of popcorn. Next, I made pillows from muslin and hand-painted them with witchy-christmas scenes. I loved how those turned out! Lastly, I hung rusty bells on too. The other smaller trees are also decorated with the same size rusty bells, prim stars and some snowball ornies I made. Being a bit on the lazy side, I've purchased some extremely prim witch hang tags from another artists on Ebay and as soon as they arrive, I'll add those to my tree and give her FULL credit for the tags. I can't wait to get them, they're awesome! I'll post a new pic too!
